Free for elementary and secondary Virginia teachers

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Summer Teacher Institute provides Virginia elementary and secondary teachers with historical content supported through the Virginia Standards of Learning and teaching strategies. During the institute, teachers participate in authentic learning activities and collaborate with staff and fellow teachers to create lessons they can use in the classroom for years to come.

• June 24-26 for Secondary Teachers
• July 22-25 for Elementary Teachers

2024 Program & Application Information

Participation is limited. To apply, complete an application as an Elementary Educator or Secondary Educator. After applying, you will receive additional information on submitting a school/division administrator recommendation.

The teacher institute is free for Virginia teachers, thanks to generous support by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Inc. Annual Fund, the Abbitt Family Foundation, the Charles S. and Millicent P.
